Kirby, Francis Joseph 1873 - 1945

Edmund Francis Joseph Kirby [commonly known as Francis Joseph Kirby] was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England on 18 April 1873. He was the son of the architect Edmund Kirby (1838-1920) with whom he presumably trained as an architect. From 1905 he was in partnership with father and his brother, Edmund Bertram Kirby (1881-1963) in the architectural practice Edmund Kirby & Sons in Liverpool. Following the retirement of their father in 1917 the brothers ran the practice with the title unchanged for some years. Francis Joseph Kirby died in Wirral, Cheshire on 10 August 1945.
