Le Maitre, William Courtenay 1882 - 1931

William Courtenay Le Maitre [also known as William Courtenay Lemaitre] was born in London in 1882. He was articled to Percy Paul Green (c.1858-1942?) in 1898 and remained with him as his assistant. He qualified as an architect in 1905. He commenced practice as an independent architect in London in 1908.   He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1905 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925.

Le Maitre's address was given as 31 Panton Street, London in 1905; 63 Finsbury Pavement in 1910 and 1923; 19, Emperor's Gate, London in 1914; 133, Moorgate, London in 1926; and 28 Albermarle Street, Piccadilly, London in 1929 and 1931. He died in Haywards Heath, Sussex on 21 March 1931.
