Leadbetter, Thomas Greenshields 1859 - 1960

Thomas Greenshields Leadbetter was born in Blythswood, Renfrewshire Scotland on 21 October 1859.  Nothing has been traced about his training as an architect.  He commenced independent practice in Edinburgh, Scotland from 1885.  From 1895 he was in partnership with James McLellan Fairley (1860-1942) in the Edinburgh-based architectural firm Leadbetter & Fairley (1895-1909). Robert Stirling Reid (1883-1947) became a partner in the practice in 1909 which was then renamed Leadbetter Fairley & Reid. The partnership was dissolved in c.1921.   Leadbetter died in Hawick, Roxburghshire on 4 August 1931
