George Henry Lewin was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England in 1874 and was articled to Henry Alfred Cooper (1859-?). He also attended the Municipal School of Art in Birmingham. From 1895 to 1904 he was Architect to Cadbury Bros. in Bournville, Birmingham. In 1905 he was appointed Surveyor to Northamptonshire County Council Education Committee a position he held until at least the late 1920s.
Lewin was a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA). He was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1926, and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1931. His address was given as 160, Birchfleld Road, Northampton in 1914. He died in c.1941. The date of probate was 26 September 1941
