Lipski, Louis Lucian 1914 - 1979

Louis Lucian Lipski [commonly known as Louis L. Lipski] was born in Warsaw, Poland on 1 December 1914 and trained as an architect. He was on holiday in England when World War Two broke out. He was unable to return to Poland and subsequently remained in Britain. During the 1940s he was engaged in the restoration and repair of bombed buildings.  In the 1950s he worked for C.W. Glover & Partners. A photograph of a bedroom in the London home of Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Stern, designed by Louis L. Lipski of C.W. Glover & Partners is illustrated in 'Decorative Art' 1955-56 (p.65). Lipski designed a stand for the L.C.C. Brixton School of Building for the ‘Building Exhibition' at Olympia in London in November 1947.  

Lipski was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA). He died in London on 13 June  1979.
