Lish, Joseph Kohn c. 1841 - 1922

Joseph John Lish [also known as Joseph J. Lish, and as J. J. Lish] was born in Beamish, Durham, England in c.1841. He was articled to Thomas Oliver (1824-1902) in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and remained as his assistant,. He subsequently established his own practice.  He was for many years a member of the Northern Architectural Association, and one of the founders of the Society of Architects, and a Past-President, and Gold Medallist of the Society. He was the author of articles on Reinforced Concrete and Portland Cement.  His address was given as Scottish Chambers, West Granger Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1896, and "Fencote", Wingrove Road, Feltham, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1914.  He died in Ormskirk Lancashire in 1922
