William Thomas Lockwood [also known as Thomas William Lockwood *] was born Great Boughton, Cheshire, England in 1863 and was articled to his father, Thomas Meakin Lockwood (1829-1900) in Chester, Cheshire in 1880. He was clerk of works at Newport Town Hall and was an improver with Thomas Edward Collcutt (1840-1924). He was subsequently in partnership with his father and his brother, Philip Henry Lockwood (1864-?) as Lockwood & Sons from 1892
William Thomas Lockwood was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1905 and was active as an architect until at least 1914. He died in Stockport, Cheshire in 1942
* Note It would seem that William Thomas Lockwood was also known as Thomas William Lockwood. Under the name Thomas William Lockwood he had a considerable reputation as a rugby player in the 1880s [See: Lockwoods from Woodbridge, Suffolk]
