Norman Sykes Lunn was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England on 20 October 1908 and was the son of a Huddersfield architect, John Ernest Lunn (1872-1974). In 1926 he enrolled at the University of Liverpool School of Architect and in 1930 gained work experience in the office of Corbett, Harrison & MacMurray in New York City. Lunn graduated with a B.Arch. in 1931 and subsequently practised as an architect in Huddersfield, He was in partnership with his father as Lunn & Lunn. He was elected an Associate of The Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1933.
Lunn's address was given as Lea Ridge, Lindley, Huddersfield in 1935; Green Ridges, Buttermere Road, Huddersfield in 1939; and The Ridings, Birlingham. Pershore, Worcestershire in 1992. He died in Pershore, Worcestershire on 16 March 1992
