Andrew William Mather [commonly known as Andrew Mather] was born in Greenwich, London, England on 14 April 1891 and practised as an architect from c.1918 onwards.
Mather was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1934. His address was given as 38 John Street, Bedford Row, London in 1926 and Leicester Square Chamber, London in 1936. He died in Southwark, London in December 1938.
In the 1930s Mather was one of the principal architects for the Odeon cinema chain. Mather also designed the Carshalton United Methodist church in Ruskin Road, Carshalton, Surrey (c.1926). A photograph of the decorative lighting scheme designed by Mather for the Odeon Cinema in Camberwell, London is illustrated in 'Decorative Art' 1940 (p122).
