Gordon Kempson McKnight was born in Rathfriland, Ireland on 2 February 1919 and worked as an architect in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He designed the Crittall Manufacturing Co. Ltd. stand for the 'Building Exhibition' at Olympia in London in November 1947. The design won first prize in the ‘Art and Industry’ Industrial Design Competition No.2. McKnight and his practice designed a Methodist church in Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1984. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1945.
In addition to his work as an architect KcKnight was also a watercolour artist and exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Ulster Academy (ARUA) in 1999. He died on 2 October 2018.
