Samuel Joseph Mould [also known as S. J. Mould] was born in Salford, Lancashire in 1869. Nothing is known about his training as an architect. He may have been articled to his elder brother, James Diggle Mould (1856-1935). In c.1897 he formed the partnership J.D. & S.J. Mould. with his brother, James Diggle Mould as J.D. & S.J. Mould which had an office at 58 Queen Victoria Street, London and in Bury, Lancashire. In 1900 they were joined by Austin Porritt (1875-1939) and the practice was renamed Moulds & Porritt. The partnership was dissolved in 1907. Samuel Joseph Mould died in Hackney, Essex [now London] on 22 September 1923. At the time of his death he was living at 148 Winchester Road, Highams Park, Essex.
