Andrew Muirhead was active born in Quarter, Lanarkshire, Scotland in c.1872 and worked as an architect in Dunfermline, Scotland between 1900 and 1907. He was briefly in partnership with Alfred Greig (1869?-1950) in c.1901-02. He died in Dunfermline on 14 January 1907. Following his death, Muirhead's chief assistant, Thomas Rutherford (1882-1958) took over his practice which he ran as Muirhead & Rutherford out of respect for his former employer.
