William Henry Overton was born in Brighton, Sussex, England on 22 August 1879. Nothing is known about his training as an architect. He commenced practice in Brighton in 1903.
He was a Fellow of the Society of Architects (F.S.Arc.) and was admitted a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925. His address was given as 17 Cornwall Gardens Patcham Sussex in 1911; 2, Ship Street, Brighton in 1912 and 1928; Town Hall, Uckfield in 1914; and 38 and 39 West Street, Brighton in 1928 and 1939. He died on 6 February 1946. At the time of his death he was living in Hove, Sussex
