Alfred Hill Parker was born in Worcester, Worcestershire, England in 1851. He was articled to Henry Rowe (1821-?) in Worcester from 1866 to 1871 and remained with him as his chief assistant until 1881 when he established his own architectural office in Worcester. He subsequently went into partnership with his son, Alfred Gwynne Parker (1880-1944,) as A. Parker Hill & Son [also known as Parker Hill & Son]. In 1904 he was appointed Surveyor to the Diocese of Worcester. In 1904 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA). He died in Worcester on 12 March 1929.
