Douchan Slobodan Petrovitch was born in what was Austria-Hungary in c.1896. He moved to England and studied at the Architectural Association Schools in London where he was awarded the A.A. Diploma. He subsequently practised in London and was briefly in partnership (or collaborated) with Hayward Lewis Samson (1881-1953). Designs for two houses by them were entered in The "Daily Mail" Ideal Houses Competition for Architects in 1927.
In 1927 or 1928 Petrovitch moved to Singapore where he was employed by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren until at least 1939.
Petrovitch was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925, an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1932; and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1935
His address was given as 1 Nottingham Terrace, Regent's Park, London in 1926 and 1927. He died in South Africa in 1975
