Pickmere, Travers 1885 - 1965

Travers Pickmere was born at Stoneycroft, West Derby, Lancashire, England on 8 January 1885 attended Liverpool University School of Architecture in Liverpool, England from 1904 to 1906. He was then articled to Thomas Shelmerdine (1845-1921) in Liverpool from 1906 to 1909 and remained with him as his assistant until 1911. He then worked as assistant to George Lister Sutcliffe (1864-1915) from 1911.  He qualified as an architect in 1911 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) the following year.  

Pickmere subsequently practised in Hampstead Garden Suburb, London and in Manchester. His address was given as "Beech Hurst" Altringham, Cheshire in 1926; 59, Temple Fortune Hill, Hampstead, London in 1939; Parliament Mansions, Abbey Orchard St, Westminster, London in 1941; and 31, Boscobel Rd North, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, Sussex in 1964. He died in Genoa, Italy on 8 May 1965
