Pinches, Frederick 1852 - 1925

Frederick Pinches was born in Lambeth, Surrey [now London], England in 1852. He was articled to Andrew Wilson in London and remained with him as his assistant. He also worked as an assistant to George Scamell (1840-1927).  Pinches commenced independent practice as an architect in London in 1878. He later also practised in Walton, Surrey.

He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1879.  Notable among his architectural commissions was the College of Preceptors in London (1885-87)

His address was given as Clarendon House, Kensington Road, Lambeth, Surrey in 1861; 359 Strand, London in 1879; 37 West Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London in 1881; 5 John Street, Adelphi, London in 1886;  Home Lodge, Surbiton, Surrey in 1901; and Lyndale, King's Road, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey in 1911 and 1923. He died on 28 February 1925
