Pinckheard, John Albert 1911 - 1977

John Albert Pinckheard [also known as John A. Pinkheard and as John Pinkheard] was born on 14 April 1911. It is not known where or with whom he trained as an architect.  In 1930 he was an RIBA Archibald Dawnwy Scholar and in 1934 was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA). He subsequently practised as an architect in London. In the 1950s he became a partner with David Booth (1908-1962) and Judith Ledeboer (1901-1990) in the London architectural practice Booth & Ledeboer which was subsequently renamed Booth Ledeboer & Pinckheard. The partnership was dissolved with the death of Booth in 1962.

Pinckheard's address was given as 19 St. Peter's  Square, London in 1939. He died in London on 28 September 1977. At the time of his death he was living as 43 Melville Road, London.

Projects by Booth Ledeboer & Pinckheard included Nos.29-35 Gordon Square, London, for the University of London (Booth Ledeboer & Pinckheard, 1957), a residential block at Magdalen College and an extension to St. John's College, University of Oxford (Booth Ledeboer & Pinckheard, 1950s) and the School of Artillery in Larkhill, Wiltshire (Booth Ledeboer & Pinckheard, 1962).
