Austin Porritt was born in Bamford, Lancashire, England in 1875. Nothing is known about his training as an architect. From 1900 he was in partnership with James Diggle Mould (1857-1935) and his brother Samuel Joseph Mould (1869-1923) as Moulds & Porritt. They had offices in London and Bury, Lancashire. After the break up of the partnership in 1907, Porritt continued to practice as an architect in Bury. He died in Church Stretton, Shropshire, England on 2 April 1939
