Roberts, Frederick Andrew 1885 - 1949

Frederick Andrew Roberts was born in Festiniog, Merionethshire, Wales in 1885 and was articled to James Strong in Liverpool. He also attended Grosvenor School of Art in London, Liverpool Technical School and Liverpool University School of Architecture.  He commenced practice in Mold, Flintshire, Wales in 1906. He also lectured on Building Construction.  During the 1930s he was in partnership with John Owen as John Owen & F. A. Owen.

Roberts was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in in 1925 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1930. His address was given as Earl Chambers, Mold, Flintshire in 1914 and 1949. He died in Mold on 26 March 1949

Town Hall with Council Chamber, Municipal Offices and Free Library at Mold; Mold Post Office; Garden Suburb at Mold for the Mold Collieries, Ltd.; new premises for Co-operative Societies at Flint and Leeswood; office buildings, with board room, at Mold, for the Denbighshire and Flintshire Territorial Force Association: also drill hall at Mold. Several chapel works at Ruthin; additions to Gwysaney Hall, Mold (built 1590); Infirmary at Ruthin (or the Ruthin Union; theatre at Cheater Street, Mold; several goodclass residences in and about Mold; and shops at Mold and Flint.
