Ross, Hugh Alexander 1887 - 1961

Hugh Alexander Ross was born in Hammersmith, Middlesex [now London], England in 1877. he was articled to Howard Chatfield Clarke (1860-1917) in 1902 and remained with him as his assistant. He also attended the Architectural Association Schools in London from 1905. He qualified as an architect in 1909 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) later that year. During the 1920s and 1930s he was a partner in or was employed by the London firm George & T. S. Vickery.

His address was given as 63 Bishops Gate Street, London in 1909; 114 Godolphin Road, London in 1909 and 1926; and 50 Gresham Street, London in 1930 and 1939. In the mid 1920s he spent a period of time in India.  He died in Coulsdon, Surrey in 1961
