Ross, Launcelot Hugh 1886 - 1956

Launcelot Hugh Ross was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on 25 January 1885. He was articled to John Rust (1844-1919), Aberdeen City Architect, from 1901 to 1906 and remained with him as his assistant until 1907.  He also attended Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen.  He worked as an assistant to John James Burnet (1857-1938) and John Burnet & Son in Glasgow and London from 1907 to 1911; to Ashley & Newman in London 1911; and to W. J. Parker in London in 1912.  

Ross commenced independent practice as an architect in Glasgow in 1912. He was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1931 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) later that year. He died in Glasgow on 30 January 1956.
