Russell-Roberts, Gilbert Clarence 1898 - 1960

Gilbert Clarence Russell-Roberts [also known as Gilbert Clarence Roberts, Glibert Clarence Russell Roberts, and as Gilbert C. Roberts] was born in Eastleigh, Hampshire, England on 10 April 1898 and was the son of Llewellyn Russell Roberts (1865-?), a carpenter and joiner. By 1911 he had moved to Frinton-on-Sea, Essex. When he enlisted in the Army in 1916 he gave his name as Gilbert Clarence Roberts and his occupation as Architects Assistant, however, it is not known where or with whom he trained as an architect. By the 1920s he was practising as an architect in Frinton-on-Sea. When in 1934 he married he gave his name as Gilbert Clarence Russell-Roberts.

Russell-Roberts' address was given as 41 Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire in 1901; Branksome, Hadleigh Road, Frinton-on-Sea, Essex in 1911 and 1916; Connaught Avenue, Frinton-on-Sea, Essex in 1937; and Mansards, Old Parsonage Way, Frinton-on-Sea, Essex in 1939. He died in Romford, Essex in March 1960
