Scrivener, Harold Moore 1865 - 1932

Harold Moore Scrivener was born in Dresden, near Longton, Staffordshire, England in 1865 and was articled to William Wood in Longton from 1882 to 1887. He then worked as an assistant to John Blood in Newcastle, Staffordshire in 1888; to Charles Lynam (1829-1921) from 1889 to 1891; and to William Sugden (1820?-1892) and William Larner Sugden (1850-1901) in Leek, Staffordshire in 1891-92.

Scrivener commenced practice as an architect in Newcastle, Staffordshire in 1893. He relocated his practice to Northampton, Northamptonshire the following year. He was in partnership with Abraham Kingsley Mosley (1865-1951) from 1894 to 1904, and with Alexander Ellis Anderson (1865-1935) from 1894 to 1900.  He subsequently practised alone.

Scrivener was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1910. His address was given as Century Chambers, George Row, Northampton in 1908; Ivy House, Hardingstone, Fish Street, Northamptonshire in 1908 and 1910; and Whitworth Chambers in 1910 and 1915.  He died in Northampton in 1932
