Henry Edward Seccombe was born in Wandsworth, London, England on 22 November 1879 and was articled to John Thomas Lee (c.1845-1920) from 1896 to 1900. He also attended University College, London where he was awarded the Donaldson Silver Medal. From 1900 to 1904 he worked as an assistant in the Architects' Department of London County Council, and from 1904 to at least 1939 was employed first as an assistant and then as an architect by the Office of Works for whom he designed a range of buildings. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1909. His address was given as Rutherwyke, Curzon Road, Weybridge, Surrey in 1909 and 1914; H.M. Office of Works, 16, Queen Anne's Gate, London in 1904 and 1939; 41 Monument Hill, Weybridge, Surrey in 1939; andUndercliffe, Fishmarket Road, Rye, Sussex in 1955. He died on 24 November 1955.
