Shattock, Lawrence Henry 1892 - 1977

Lawrence Henry Shattock [also known as Lawrence Shattock, Lawrence Shattock, and as L. H. Shattock] was born in Clapham, London, England in 1892 and was articled to Stanley Davenport Adshead (1868-1946) and Stanley Churchill Ramsey (1882-1968) of Adshead & Ramsey in London. He also attended Regent Street Polytechnic; in London and University College, London, where he took a two years town planning course. After qualifying as an architect he was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1921. He subsequently practised as an architect in London and Guildford, Surrey. In the 1920s he was in partnership with James Herbert Norris (1871-1928), Borough Survey of Godalming, and his son Frank Welman Norris (1900-1987) as Norris & Shattock. The partnership was dissolved in 1929.

Shattock was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1935. His address was given as 4 Crescent Road, Wimbledon, Surrey in 1911; 39 Grosvenor Place, London and 16 Church Street, Godalming, Surrey in 1927; 51 High Street, Guildford, Surrey in 1925 and 1927; 47 Victoria Street, London and 4 Crescent Road, Wimbledon in 1930 and 1939.  Shattock died in Merton, London in 1977
