Short, Samuel George 1875 - 1955

Samuel George Short was born in Kensington, London on 25 December 1875. He was articled to John Macvicar Anderson (1835-1915) in 1889 and remained with him as his assistant. He also attended Regent Street Polytechnic and the South Kensington Schools in London.  He commenced independent practice as an architect in Fulham, London in 1890 and in c.1914 he was in partnership with Alfred Harris as Alfred Harris & Short. He  was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1911.  

Short's address was given as 164 West End Road, Southall, London in 1910 and 1914; 6 Stratton Street, London in 1911; 9 Southampton Street, Bloomsbury, London in 1914; 22, Down Street, Mayfair, London in 1923 and 1926; "Greenhurst", Cranford, near Hounslow, Middlesex in 1928 and 1939; 15 Burnham Gardens, Hounslow, Middlesex in 1939; and 10 Brookmead, Hildenborough, Kent in 1955.  He died Pembury, Kent on 11 February 1955.
