Shrewsbury, Edward James 1852 - 1924

Edward James Shrewsbury was born in Hastings, East Sussex, England in 1852 and was articled to Charles Smith (1832-1912) in Reading, Berkshire from 1869 to 1873.  He then worked as an assistant in the offices of various architects.  He commenced practice as an architect in Maidenhead, Berkshire in 1875 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) the following year.

His address was given as Orchard Cottage, Maidenhead in 1902; Redwood, Maidenhead in 1907; Holmwood, 19 Cloudesley Road, St. Leonards on Sea, Sussex in 1911; Clock Tower Chambers, Station Approach, Maidenhead in 1914; and 47, Queen Street, Maidenhead in 1923. He died in Maidenhead, Berkshire on 9 March 1924.
