Thomas Ball Silcock

Thomas Ball Silcock [also known as T. B. Silcock] was born in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, England on 19 September 1854. From 1896 he was in partnership with Samuel Sebastian Reay (c.1867-1933) in the architectural practice Silcock & Reay in Bath, Somerset. He also formed a short-lived partnership with his son, Arnold Silcock (1889-1953) in 1921.

Silcock was elected a Fellow of the Bristol Society of Architects in 1914. His address was given as 47 Milsom Street, Bath in 1905 and 1909.  Between 1906 and 1910 he served as Liberal MP for the Wells Division of Somerset. He died in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire on 1 April 1924.

Architectural projects by T. B. Silcock included Old County Hall, Station Road, Truro, Cornwall (1890) and the Congregational Church on Sandford Street, Swindon (1894). With Reay he designed the Technical Institute on Junction Road, Bradford on Avon (1897); Claverton Down Gospel Hall (1898);' Newtown Junior School in Trowbridge (1900); and St Peter’s and St Mary’s Junior School, London Road, Marlborough (1904).
