Simpson, Christopher 1867 - 1959

Christopher Simpson was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England on 26 October 1867 and was articled to Herbert H. Weightman in Liverpool.   He also attended Liverpool Technical College.  

From 1899 to 1907 he was architect to Leigh Brewery in n Leigh, Lancashire. He established his own architectural  practice as an architect in Leigh in 1907.  He was a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA) and was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925

His address was given as 13 Walmesley Road Leigh, Lancashire in  1911; Bank Chambers Railway Road, Leigh, Lancashire in 1914;  Tarleton Chambers, 85, Church Street, Leigh, Lancashire in 1923 and 1926; and 38, The Avenue, Leigh, Lancashire in 1914 and 1939.

Restoration and part rebuilding of Culcheth Hall, near Warrington; rebuilding of Leigh Brewery; "Boar's Head" Hotel, Leigh; "Pied Bull" Hotel, Leigh, and similar work in Leigh and other Lancashire towns; completion of Leigh Constitutional Club, Assembly Rooms and Buildings. Leigh Baptist Sunday Schools; shops, dwelling-houses, stables, engine-houses and other premises at Astley, Atherton, Golborne, Leigh, Newton-le-Willows and other districts for the Leigh Co-operative.
