Basil Alfred Slade [commonly known as Basil Slade] was born in Brighton, Sussex in 1865 and was active as an architect in the UK between 1873-1914. He trained as an architect under John Wichcord (1823-1988) in 1882 and at the School Board for London under Mr Bailey. Slade went into practice as an independent architect London in 1887. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1903. A photograph of the entrance hall of a house designed by Basil Slade is featured in 'The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art' 1906 (p.5). He died London on 21 July 1930
