Francis (Frank) Saxon Snell

Francis Saxon Snell [commonly known as Frank Saxon Snell] was born in Hampstead, London, England on 15 May 1887) and was the son of the architect Alfred Walter Saxon Snell (1860-1949). He studied analytical chemistry at Cambridge University and may have trained as an architect under his father. Little is known about his brief career as an architect. He was killed in action on The Somme, France on 22 April 1916 whilst serving in the Army during World War One. His death was reported in The Building News and Engineering Journal vol. 111, no. 3212, 26 July 1916 p. 90.
