Stanley Harold Smith was born in Southgate, Middlesex, England on 16 July 1906. It is not known where he trained as an architect. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1928. His address was given as “Redrufe,” Lavender Hill, Enfield, Middlesex. in 1929 and "Martyns", Stone Hall Road, Winchmore Hill, Middlesex in 1939. He died in Wood Green, Middlesex in 1949
