Trevor John Tatham was born was born in Heidelberg or Swellendam, South Africa on 16 October 1878 and soon after moved to England. He was articled to Herbert Owen Ellis (1857-1940) in London from 1897 to 1902 and remained with him as his assistant. He also attended classes at the Architectural Association Schools in London. In 1906 Tatham established his own architectural practice in London. He was in partnership with Ellis, and with William Lee Clarke (1878-1956). Tatham was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1910.
In 1915 Tatham moved to Lee-on-Solent, Hampshire to teach at Edinburgh House School and subsequently pursued a career as both a teacher and as an architect. He was one of the most prolific architects in Lee. He designed numerous houses, bungalows and commercial premises in the area. During the 1920s he was Architect to Lee-on-the-Solent Estate, Ltd.
His address was given as 44 Chelsham Road, Clapham, Surrey in 1881; 36 Sydenham Road, Croydon, Surrey in 1891; Mount Pleasant Grange, Marden, Kent in 1901; Elmfield, 81 College Road, Bromley, Kent in 1911; 46 Fenchurch Street, London in 1911 and 1914; 6, Manor Way, Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire in 1923 and 1939. He died in Gosport, Hampshire on 29 December 1952
