Wallace, Alastair (Alexander) Frew 1908 - 1994

Alastair Frew Wallace [also known as Alexander Frew Wallace] was born in Kirkintilloch, Scotland on 21 March 1908 and was articled to Keppie & Henderson in Glasgow in 1928. He also studied at Glasgow School of Architecture.  Having qualified as an architect, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1933.  That year, he formed a partnership with Richard Mervyn Noad (1906-1991) as Noad & Wallace.   The address of the practice was given as 261, West George Street, Glasgow in 1935; 220, West Regent Street, Glasgow in 1936 and 1939; and 278, St Vincent Street, Glasgow in 1950. The partnership was dissolved in 1978

Wallace was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1950. He died on 5 April 1994
