Ward, William Henry, junior 1878 - ?

William Henry Ward, junior [also known as William Ward] was born in Handsworth, Staffordshire, England in 1878 [or 1879 - sources differ] and was articled to his father, William Henry Ward, senior (1844-1917) in Birmingham. He also attended Birmingham School of Art.  He commenced practice in Birmingham in 1904 in partnership with his father.

William Henry Ward, senior retired in 1914 leaving the business, but soon retuned to the practice when his son was called up for military service with the outbreak of World War One that year.  

William Henry Ward, senior died in 1917 and following the war William Henry Ward, junior continued the practice. By 1928 he was a partner in the Birmingham firm Martin & Martin and W. H. Ward.

He was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1911 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1932.

His address was given as 30 Paradise Street, Birmingham and 65, Sandon Road, Edgbaston in 1911 and 195; and 106 Colmore Row, Birmingham in 1923 and 1935,  He was active as an architect until at least the mid-1930s.
