Wicks, Herbert Graham 1887 - 1965

Herbert Graham Wicks was born in Moulton, Northamptonshire, England in 1887 and was articled to his uncle, William Alexander Harvey (1874-1951). He also attended Birmingham School of Architecture.  He practised as an architect in Birmingham from 1912 and was in partnership with Harvey as Harvey & Wicks from 1912 to at least the mid-1930s.

Wicks was Consulting Architect to Bournville Village Trust. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1920 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1939. He was also a member of the Birmingham and Five Counties Architectural Association and its President.  In 1934 he was awarded the R.I.B.A. Architectural Bronze Medal for Warwickshire, South Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Warwickshire.

His address was given as Hill Crest, Wellington Road, Edgbaston in 1914; 5, Bennett's Hill, Birmingham in 1914 and 1939 ; and 13 Portland Road, Egbaston in 1965. He died in Poole, Dorset on 13 May 1965
