William John Vaughan Williams was born in Brecon, Breconshire, Wales in c.1887. His occupation was given as Assistant Architect in the 1911 Wales Census. however, it is not known where or with whom he trained. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1920. He submitted a design for a bungalow in the Daily Mail Architects Competition for Labour-Saving Bungalows in 1922
Williams evidently served with distinction during World War One as he was awarded the Military Cross (MC).
His address was given as 11 Nant-y-ffyn Road Llansamlet Glamorganshire, Wales in 1911; 3, Brunswick Terrace, Weymouth, Dorset in 1922; and 3, Brunswick Terrace, Weymouth. in 1922 and 1926. He died in Surrey in 1965.
