Robert Gordon Wilson, Jun. was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1877 and was articled to his father, Robert Gordon (1844-1931) of Wilson & Ellis in Aberdeen from 1893 to 1898. He also attended Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen from 1895 to 1897. He worked as an assistant to John Thomson (1859-1933) and Robert Douglas Sandilands (1854-1913) of Thomson & Sandilands in Glasgow in 1899-1900; to Frank Thomas Baggallay (1855-1930); and to Ellis & Wilson from 1901 to 1905.
Wilson qualified as an architect in 1902 and commenced practice as an architect in Aberdeen in 1906. He was briefly in partnership with his father and from 1906 c.1933 with John Wilson Walker (1878-1926) as Wilson & Walker. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1902 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1922.
His address was given as 60 Springbank Terrace, Aberdeen in 1881; Ellisbill, Belgrave Terrace, Aberdeen in 1891 and 1902; 375, Union Street, Aberdeen in 1914; 116, Queen's Road, Aberdeen in 1914 and 1939. He died in Aberdeen on 13 December 1939.
