Wilson, Thomas Millwood 1879 - 1957

Thomas Millwood Wilson [also known as T. Millwood Wilson] was born in Haverstock Hill, London, England on 30 June 1879. He was articled to John James Stevenson (1821-1908) and Harry Edfern (1861-1950) from 1895 to 1899 and remained with them as an assistant until 1901. He then worked as an assistant to Edward Guy Dawber (1861-1938) from 1901.

Wilson commenced independent as an architect in London in 1910. In 1938 he formed a partnership with Dawber and Albert R. Fox (?-1956) as Sir Guy Dawber, Wilson & Fox  Dawber later that year, however Wilson and Fox retained the title of the practice which they ran until 1954 when Wilson retired.

Between 1909 and 1913 Wilson designed 17 houses in Hampstead Garden Suburb, including a house for himself. During the post-World War One years he designed some 20 branches of Lloyd's Bank. He also designed the Public Library and Public Baths in Hendon, London.

Wilson was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1910 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1921.

His address was given as 22 Buckingham Street, London and Wayside, Hampstead Way, Hamstead Garden Suburb, London in 1910; 34 New Bridge Street, London in 1912; 4 Staple Inn in 1912 and 1938; and 18 Maddox Street, Hanover Square, London in 1939. He died in Surrey on 11 January 1957.
