Wimperis, John Thomas c. 1829 - 1904

John Thomas Wimperis was born in Kimbolton, Huntingdon, England in c.1829. By 1866 he had established a practice in London with an office at 25, Sackville Street.

He was associated with the Grosvenor Estate in London from the mid-1870s onwards and in 1887 he was appointed one of the Estate's approved architects,

In 1889 Wimperis formed a partnership with William Henry Arber (1849-1904) who had been his assistant for a number of years.

Wimperis was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1877. He retired from practice in 1898 and died in London on 21 December 1904.
