Worley, Robert James 1850 - 1930

Robert James Worley was born in Westminster, London, England on 24 February 1850.  It is not known where he trained as an architect.  He was in practice in London in the late nineteenth century and early years of the twentieth century. He had offices at Avenue Chambers, Vernon Place, London.  Worley died in Shenfield. Essex on 3 April 1930.

Notable among architectural projects by Worley was Sicilian Avenue in Holborn London in 1906-10.  He also designed the London Trocadero with James Ebenezer Saunders (1829?-1909) in 1885; Arundel House, 22 The Drive in Hove, Sussex  in 1899; and 41 Harley Avenue, London with his brother, Charles Worley (1853–1906).  Albert Court, a large residential building in London designed by Worley is discussed in Residential Flats of All Classes, Including Artisans' Dwellings by Sydney Perks (1905 pp. 129, 130a, 130b).
