Bateman & Drury 1835 - 1848

Bateman & Drury was an architectural partnership formed in 1835 by Joseph Bateman (1778-1857) and George Drury (c.1807-1851). The practice had an office in Birmingham, England and later in Leamington Spa.

In 1848 Joseph Bateman's son, John Jones Bateman (1818-1903) joined the practice which was renamed Bateman, Drury & Bateman.

Architectural projects by Bateman & Drury included Greenway Terrace( 1836) in Bordesley; workhouses in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire (1837), Bromsgrove, Warwickshire (1837-38), Leek, Staffordshire (1838-39), and Birmingham Heath (1859-52); rebuilding of the north aisle of Chivers Coton Church in Warwickshire (1937-38); the Queen's Hospital, Bath Row, Birmingham (1840-41); and Queen's College, Birmingham (1843-44).
