Boulton & Paul Ltd. [also known as Boulton Paul Ltd.] originated as an ironmongers business in Norwich, Norfolk, England, in 1797. By 1900 it had evolved into a general manufacturing firm. Between 1915 and 1934 the firm had an aircraft division that manufactured fighter planes during World War One and civilian planes and airship components following the war.
