Crouch, Butler & Savage originated as Crouch & Butler, an architectural practice formed by Joseph Crouch (1859-1936) and Edmund Butler (1862-1946) in Birmingham, England in 1886. The title of the firm changed in 1902 when Rupert Savage (1871-1956) joined the practise.
Savage continued the business following the deaths of Crouch and Butler. At some point William Cyril Moss (1883-1959) joined the practice and following Savage's retirement in 1952, he took over the firm. Crouch, Butler & Savage was acquired by the London-based firm Sidell Gibson Architects in 2009
