Rowntree & Sons 1919 - ?

In 1912 the architect Frederick (Fred) Rowntree (1860-1927) took his son Douglas Woodville Rowntree (c1888-1966) into his practice in Hammersmith, London as Fred Rowntree & Son. The practice was renamed Fred Rowntree & Sons in 1919 when another son, Colin Rowntree (1891-1965) joined the firm.

Architectural projects by Fred Rowntree & Son and Fred Rowntree & Sons included West China University in Chengtu, Szechuan, China (1912); Friends Meeting House, North Square, Golders Green, London (1913); St John's Presbyterian Church, Northwood, London (1913-14); Rowntree Park in York, Yorkshire (1919-21), laid out in collaboration with with W J Swain; addition to the Friends School in Saffron Walden, Essex (1922); Friends Meeting House in Haringey, London (1923-26); Manor House in Langdale End, Scarborough, Yorkshire (1924); Friends Meeting House in Muswell Hill, London (1926); Friends Meeting House in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire (1927).
