Sproat, Shaw, Vowles & Clayton

Sproat, Shaw, Vowles & Clayton was an architectural partnership active in Liverpool, England in the early years of the twentieth century. It was formed by Arthur Joseph Singleton Shaw (1871-1943) and Thomas Hubert Hardinge Vowles (1872-1946, (?) Sproat and (?) Clayton.  Nothing is known about Sproat and Clayton.

In 1905 the firm submitted an entry in a competition to design Lambeth Municipal Buildings. It may not have been a formal partnership and was possibly formed specifically for this competition. It may not have designed anything else.  Their entry is illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture volume 1, no. 1, January 1905 (pp. 38, 39)
