The AHRnet Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Architects 1800-1950 includes approximately 4,000 entries extracted from the Art History Research net database Arts+Architecture ProFiles (A+AP).
A+AP currently includes biographical and historical data on over 45,000 architects, painters, sculptors, designers, craftspeople, firms, studios, workshops, guilds, and organisations. Most of the names are of creatives whose work is discussed or is illustrated in the other four AHRnet databases: ReView, Design Abstracts Retrospective and Research Sources 1 and 2.
For further information about the AHRnet databases see Here
The AHRnet Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Architects 1800-1950 is an ongoing project and will be constantly updated and revised. We will be adding at least an additional 2,000 entries over the coming months.
Searches can be made by the name of an architect or firm, gender, and the country in which an architect worked.
Corrections and any additional information about the architects and firms included in AHRnet Biographical Dictionary of British and Irish Architects 1800-1950 would be welcomed.
