Barrett, Herbert Stanley 1876 - 1956

Herbert Stanley Barrett [also known as Herbert Stanley-Barrett] was born in Sydenham, London, England on 21 July 1876.  He was articled Charles Henry Driver (1832-1900) in 1894 and to Rowland Plumbe (1838-1919) from 1895 to 1897. He also attended King's College, London and the Architectural Association Schools in London.

He commenced his career as a professional architect in London, England from 1897 and was in partnership with Charles Henry Driver (1863-1925) in the firm Barrett & Driver, from c.1902 known as Stanley-Barrett & Driver and as Stanley Barrett & Driver.  Barrett was active as an architect until at least the late 1920s. He was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1911 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925.

His address was given as Gray's Inn Chambers, 20, High Holborn, London and North Park Lodge, Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire in 1911 and 1914;  17, Glenville Place, Emperor's Gate, London in 1914; 13, Lower Seymour Street, London in 1923; and 128 Wigmore Street, London in 1926. He died in Hendon, Middlesex on 9 February 1956.
