Barton, John Isaac 1863 - 1920

John Isaac Barton was born in Ryde, Isle of Wight, Hampshire on 24 May 1863. By 1891 he was practising as an architect in Ryde. By 1908 was in partnership with George Boughton (1866-?) as John I. Barton & George Boughton in Ryde.  In 1908 they submitted an entry in a competition to design the Middle School for Boys and Girls in Tiverton, Devon.  Their designers are illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture vol. 2, no. 20, February 1909 (pp.256-257).

Barton's address was given as Beverley, Partlands Avenue, Ryde, Isle of Wight in 1891 and as 21, Partlands Avenue, Ryde, Isle of Wight, Isle of Wight in 1901. He died on 23 October 1920. At the time of his his address was given as Brynmar, Ryde, Isle of Wight.
